Disparate Undulations

Ripples in the stream of consciousness *

This is not a blog per se, but is to serve as a catch-all for those random, disconnected thoughts occurring throughout the day.

There's no predetermined format and the postings are random with no implied regularity.

Comments are not enabled; it's really not that kind of blog.

Brokeback Mountain was good, very good. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to all hype. But then, with all the "noise" out there about any and everything, nothing can possibly live up to it's publicity. Naturally I have a few "suggestions" that would've made the firm better, but since he did receive the oscar for directing, I don't think Mr. Lee would accept my call.

After the feature, I spent a little time to finalize the work on formatting this template. I like the way it turned out.

Since it's still rather early in the day, I guess I'll do a double feature ....A History of Violence.

I really should use this "extra time" to do something domestic ...the chores are piling up. But I'm feeling too good today to ruin it with responsibilities and obligations.

My day and the rest of the weekend is set. I'll be watching movies for the duration. My neighbor, who buys DVDs instead of renting them, informed my of [some of] his latest acquisitions. Brokeback Mountain, Flightplan, A History Of Violence, King Kong, and last but not least the Chronicles of Narnia.

I can cross them off my Netflix list ...especially since all of them were listed as having a "very long wait".

Gotta go, the popcorn is ready

This is to see just how this email system handles linebreaks. It seems
to me that no matter how long the line is, the emai is sent (or maybe
it's blogger) with a certain column width.

The line breaks seem to be maintained as long as you publish the post
immediately. However, if you don't publish it, it's saved in one block
of text.

Addendum added via editing: Email posts (that are published immediately) are tagged "mobile-post" and thus take on the characteristics of the specified width. This can be left as is or re-edited as with this entry.

No! Upon further inspection, it seems that the email is sent with specified width line breaks and they're simply maintained in the posting ...which can be simply re-edited. Whew!

This is test of blogger's mail post system. I'm checking to see if "no
subject" is allowed. Also to see if any additional text is appended.
Here goes.

This is my second attempt; the first failed ...because I sent it to the
wrong address duh! Here goes.

I finally got it to work. (The text from the first two attempts is
above) Such a simple setting, and yet it took me three attempts to get
it right. I could blame it on the earliness of the hour, but still....

Unfortunately, this method doesn't recognize line breaks so all the
text is entered in one block. hrmpf!

the morning's so grey
the sun is up there, somewhere
when will it shine through

Had a good day with regard to de-constructing this blog template. Everything is cool now. Just a few ongoing tweaks. I do feel accomplished in having figured it all out.

Damn! This street is noisy tonight. First off, it's the last Friday of the month and those fuckin' bicyclers ("critical mass") are making their statement. As if they're really going to put a dent in the amount of traffic by blocking traffic. All they're doing is creating gridlock ...and reveling in the creation of the chaos. And what's with all the sirens. Between the police and ambulances...

Like I've always said, "To live on an estate, with lots of acreage, away from all the noise and people..."

I finally got the background of this blog to do what I wanted. Funny, I beat my head against the wall for a couple of day and in the end it turned out to be just a matter of changing a word. This happened with my first blog; something about the various browsers responding oddly to specific words. Anyway, I got over that hump, so now all I have to do is tweak the text.

This is a second post to test out the format. I'll eventually delete this post in favor of legitimate comments when I've tackled the format and changed it to what I want. That's seems to be the motivation for all this. After I get it done, I don't know just how much positing I'll be doing

It's odd that I'd create a new blog when just a few hours ago I was thinking how futile it was maintaining my other one. I'm really not sure if it's being read or just glanced at and then passed over. If I'm writing for myself, then the "readership" shouldn't matter, but somehow it does.
